A Health & Safety / Regulatory Associate Solicitor job based in London paying up to £55,000.

Your new role
The firm's Liability team are looking to recruit an Associate Solicitor to work on criminal regulatory matters within their Health and Safety department. The team has extensive experience in work-related criminal investigations, giving practical advice, often in the immediate aftermath of a workplace accident or incident. You will be advising on defending regulatory, manslaughter and corporate manslaughter prosecutions, and representing clients at inquests and public inquiries. This is an exciting opportunity to join a law firm leading the legal market in this field.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need strong academics (2.1 or higher degree) or equivalent. The firm will consider UK Qualified Solicitors, Foreign Qualified Solicitors or CILEX Qualified with relevant experience. Post qualification experience of Criminal Regulatory and/or Health and Safety defence work is preferred, as is the ability to run your own caseload under supervision and assist seniors with large scale casework in a team environment. Previous client contact and attendance at business development events is desirable. Experience of arbitration and negotiation is also advantageous.

You will need to be able to give and take instruction, apply a forensic approach, and deliver commercially pragmatic solutions. You will need to be proactive and take initiative, with strong communication skills both verbal and written, be able to manage your own time, demonstrate excellent organisation skills and strong technical and research skills. A flexible attitude towards working practices and an ability to adapt style as required for supervision purposes are a prerequisite. You should be confident in your own abilities and in your approach, a solid team player, approachable and responsive to both colleagues and clients, self-motivated and enthusiastic.
