Our client is one of the East Midlands leading commercial firms, enjoying a high ranking in Legal 500, and numerous awards nominations of recent times. In slower economic years they have continued to expand through a mixture of organic growth and also strategic lateral hires from leading law firm brands. With those partner appointments has come a broadening of their client base across the Midlands and into the North and down into London. Clients include an impressive number of household names, plc's, sports clubs, as well as local SME/OMB's and larger regional businesses around Leicestershire. With purpose designed bespoke office space they have room to expand further in coming years, and the firm is committed to sustaining its growth and momentum in the market.

With a dynamic management board of three key leaders but a fully engaged broader partner group, this firm has a genuinely collegiate culture and welcomes new ideas and energy from employees at all levels. This firm is a bit different, and will present an attractive alternative to candidates looking to leave London or who might be with Top 100 brands that are becoming London centric, or which are following a multi-site growth strategy such that they're perhaps losing abit of their identity or regional appreciation.

The firms Corporate team are a good size and well rated, their focus being mainstream M&A work, and typical deal size c£10million. They are looking to appoint an experienced lawyer of c5+PQE who will sit between Assistant Solicitors and Partners, and get fully involved in the department from a technical perspective and also in marketing. On arrival you'll most likely be an Associate or possibly Senior Associate but prospects for further advancement are good, and progression needn't be a taboo topic at interview. The firm has plenty of work to do and so does not need a candidate to have a following to justify an appointment.

The firm will always look for a candidate to have some sort of connection to the East Midlands as they want a long term appointment, but to this end they are happy to consider relocators who want to come to the region and who can demonstrate a motivation to settle specifically in this region. This firm has a long term agenda and appreciates that candidates might want to learn more about them, and so they will happily consider a less formal initial exploratory meeting over a coffee with high quality candidates who may not be sure whether now is the right time to make a move, but who perhaps might be ready to come to Leicestershire in the next 12-24 months.
