Commercial Litigation Solicitor - Associate/Partner Designate

A highly regarded full service national law firm is continuing with the expansion of its Birmingham city centre office and so is keen to appoint an experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor to the Dispute Resolution Team in its Birmingham city centre office.

This Legal 500 listed practice has a very strong offering and operates in both the commercial and private sectors. The firm boasts an envied client list and is also the proud recipient of a host of awards demonstrating exactly why major bodies recognise the firm as one of the best law firms to work for. This firm is different as it really does thrive on its entrepreneurial philosophy and has a culture that lacks rigidity and barriers.

The firms' Dispute Resolution Team acts for an extensive list of heavyweight clients that are both national and international entities and the team offers the full spectrum of commercial litigation services on matters that are technically complex and with values in the millions.

The firm has grown its client base in recent years and is on a very sound financial footing, as opposed to some of its more highly geared competitors and it is now keen to further enhance its standing in the market with the addition of a Commercial Property Associate or Partner Designate.

This opportunity differentiates itself from others in that all of the lawyers here work as an aligned group and the philosophy is very much that clients come first with management coming a distant second with politics being absolutely left by the way side. The firm operates a flat structure and will absolutely not tolerate any form of arrogance or pomposity which allows its members to demonstrate their individual skills and talent without fear of them being shackled, as you may be experiencing in your current role.

The firm is now particularly keen to hear from commercial litigators with a minimum of 5 years' PQE who have worked at Top 100 law firms and who have a portable following or part following so if you are an Associate or Senior Associate who is frustrated at being overlooked for promotion over recent years and who are perhaps disillusioned with your current role then this opportunity is well worth exploring.

The firm is truly a meritocratic organisation and is in a very strong financial position. It can offer long term security and will offer exposure to high calibre work which you can often leverage off. You will receive a very competitive remuneration package and benefits package and will also be able to take advantage of a lucrative bonus scheme whilst working in an autonomous environment with very little in the way of KPIs and targets. Progression to the partnership is very much on offer as well.

Company

QED
An acronym of the latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum which translates as "thus it is demonstrated" or "that which was to be demonstrated". It is most often used as an annotation at the end of a complex mathematical, scientific or philosophical argument to show that the author had proven what he had set out to prove. In recent times it has also been translated as "Quite Easily Done".

As a recruiter you have to network and speak to large amounts of people and lots of law firms to really understand the market and have the connections to match people with opportunity quickly when the time arises. A good recruiter needs to be Quick, Excellent and Dynamic in everything that they do. Allow the team at QED to demonstrate what they can do for your firm or your career.
