Lawyer (Regulatory) & Data Protection Officer
Grade LSP1-4   £38,443 - £44,512 per annum - Based in Leeds City Centre

We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic and highly motivated lawyer with relevant experience (ideally in a local authority context) to join our Legal and Governance Services Team with the ability to handle a wide and varied caseload in relation to regulatory compliance (including Information Governance and Health & Safety), litigation and employment law. You will also fulfill the role of Data Protection Officer, advising the organisation in relation to its obligations pursuant to the GDPR and monitoring compliance.

You will have an excellent track record of providing proactive, expert, timely and authoritative legal advice and support across a minimum of two or more areas for which this post is responsible including Information Governance, and be able to demonstrate the appropriate skills, ability and desire to develop your expertise across the remaining areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with initiative, a proactive approach to problem solving and a real commitment to the post and the Legal and Governance Services Team. The role will also involve management responsibility for 2 team members including the post of Information Governance Officer. 

You will be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate or full CILEX (fellowship) qualification.
