Senior Lawyer / Lawyer (2 posts)
£38,619 - £49,023
37 hpw. Permanent.
Based in the Legal Services Department at OCC, Wymondham.
We are offering a great opportunity to join our small, friendly legal team to undertake varied, fast-paced and challenging work. Norfolk Constabulary's Legal Services Department provides legal advice and representation to the Chief Constable, the Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner and to our collaborative police partners. The work undertaken by the department includes operational advice and orders, civil actions against the police, police misconduct, inquests, disclosure, employment and commercial law.
We are looking for two lawyers to join us to assist with some or all of the following legal subject areas:
* Civil claims (including public and employer's liability claims, motor claims and judicial review)
* Operational policing law (advice to police officers, applications for Orders such as Proceeds of Crime Orders, Closure Orders, Sexual Harm Prevention Orders etc.)
* Employment and commercial law (contracts, PFI and procurement).
There will also be the opportunity to undertake work in other legal areas and training will be provided, where necessary.
You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or fully qualified Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and will have substantial, recent experience of managing your own case load in one or more of the legal areas set out above.
We are happy to consider applications for part time working, job share or compressed hours where the exigencies of the service permit.
