The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) sits at the heart of the Criminal Justice System in England and Wales, committed to protecting the public and creating a safe society, ensuring the right person is prosecuted for the right offence and offenders brought to justice wherever possible.

London as a geographical region accounts for 20% of the overall workload of the CPS and contains many of the most serious and complex crime issues in England and Wales London CPS is split into two Areas – North and South, with a Chief Crown Prosecutor (CCP) responsible for each. We are now seeking a new CCP for the London South Area.

As a CCP you will be responsible for all CPS activity in the region and will work closely with your counterpart in the London North Area. This will include overseeing the quality of the legal decisions made, managing resources, working closely with key stakeholders in the Criminal Justice System and ensuring performance targets are met. You will also be a key member of the Director of Public Prosecutions’ Legal Cabinet.

The ideal individual will be a senior successful lawyer, with a track record in the Criminal Law arena. You will have led teams successfully and are far from easily daunted. You are credible with very senior stakeholders and can adapt your style to suit varying circumstances and are comfortable with working under a significant level of scrutiny.
