Continued growth in the legal sector
Once again, data from LinkedIn’s workforce report has demonstrated the resilience of the legal recruitment market, with recruitment in the legal sector 42% higher month over month from September to October.
Although the market remains 17% lower than legal recruitment figures in 2019, this continued growth serves to warn recruiters of legal talent that now is the time to get top talent over the line before we return to the pre-pandemic highly competitive levels.
Last year’s Hays research report showed 89% of legal recruiters had experienced a skills shortage during 2019. 80% reported having difficulty hiring permanent staff, risking the ability of the firm to deliver projects. The current economic climate should prove the ideal time to get the skills and experience you need without compromise.
We asked legal recruiter Nathan Abimelech, CapeClarke, what one top tip he would give a client to ensure they get their ideal candidate over the line.
“Be upfront and honest with your candidate from the outset. Whether this relates to the scope of responsibilities expected in a role, the salary on offer or even future personal development, candidates need to feel comfortable throughout the process. A sense of consistency and a lack of nasty surprises works wonders.”
