Regional Analysis of Private Practice Vacancies 2020

With a foreword from Lynn Sedgewick, CEO, Clayton Legal have examined the impact Covid-19 has had regionally on private practice recruitment. Analysing the number of vacancies by region.

While the impact on the UK economy has been self-evident in every major economic indicator, from GDP to employment, the legal sector has had its own challenges.

In certain areas, law firms are clearly just as busy as ever. For example, demand for Employment lawyers has continued unabated. Even in more transactional areas such as Real Estate the signs are positive.

The most visible area of law to be impacted has been the transactional practice teams. By region, London continues to dominate, where interestingly the capital has held up better than the regions in terms of recruitment. With the North West, the largest region outside London, has seen a slight drop in its share of vacancies nationally.
