The RYA employs over 170 staff in a wide range of roles, from boating specialists to professional staff to co-ordinators and administrators. Most work from our headquarters in Hamble, near Southampton, but some are based in other parts of the UK. The RYA works actively, and tirelessly, to represent and protect the interests of its members, affiliates and Recognised Training Centres at government level.  We provide a tailored Legal Advisory and Information Service to those external stakeholders, and work towards protecting existing boating facilities and promoting the expansion of facilities to cater for the future needs of the sport.  Access to legal advice on boating related issues is a key tangible benefit to personal and organisational members of the RYA.
