In order to support our expansion and growing clientele, we are actively recruiting for an Employment Solicitor to join our innovative and motivated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified solicitors who are eager to kick-start their careers or Solicitors with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to elevate their careers within a supportive yet forward-thinking environment.
The responsibilities for this role encompass managing your own caseload, with support from our Managing Director. This role will entail representing both employer and employee clients in a variety of legal matters both contentious and non-contentious. This role will also involve dealing with and advising on the ACAS and Tribunal process as well as drafting Tribunal forms and orders.
Our Employment Solicitor will have the opportunity to build and spearhead a team to advance our service offerings in the field of Employment Law. This role will be proactively participating in the firm’s marketing efforts, including the writing and publication of blogs, seminars, panel speaking at events and attending networking events with the support of our in-house HR Manager.
Efficient file management is of utmost importance, including meeting deadlines, adhering to established precedents, and uploading letters and documents onto the case management system, therefore, proficiency in computer skills is a prerequisite for this role. This role operates within a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you can balance the legal complexities of workplace issues with practical, client-focused solutions.
A bit about you
You will possess strong business acumen and an understanding of the commercial implications of employment law enabling you to offer practical and strategic solutions for managing risks related to dismissals, restructuring, and workplace disputes.
You must have an in-depth understanding of UK employment legislation, including the Employment Rights Act 1996 and Equality Act 2010 along with the legal framework surrounding employment contracts. A comprehensive knowledge of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (TUPE), ACAS guidelines, and Employment Tribunal Rules is essential.
You will possess exceptional client-handling and negotiation skills, robust verbal and written communication abilities, and a commitment to establishing strong client relationships. You must be proactive in driving matters forward and keeping our clients well-informed of progress via email, telephone, letter, or in-person interactions. You will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail when handling settlement agreements, contracts, and tribunal submissions, whilst also utilising strong organisational skills to meet strict deadlines. Proficiency and experience in using case management software, such as LEAP, is preferred.
