I'm currently supporting a Top-tier Legal 500 law firm, with an excellent reputation for delivering top-tier legal services, as they look to add a Family Solicitor to the team in Southampton. If you are passionate about family law and want to further your career in a supportive and dynamic environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

The ideal candidate will be 0-3 years PQE. This role represents a fantastic opportunity to work closely with two partners dealing with all aspects of family law, predominantly focusing on high-net-worth matrimonial finance and complex private law children matters.

Family Solicitor responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on a range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, financial settlements, and domestic abuse
  • Support senior solicitors in managing cases, conducting research, and preparing legal documentation
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, providing empathetic and practical advice
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Actively engage with marketing and business development activity

What could set you apart?

  • 0-3 years PQE with experience or a strong interest in family law
  • Practical experience in drafting relevant family documents such as forms E, questionnaires, replies to questionnaires, court orders, statements, briefs to counsel, and Children Act application forms
  • Flexible and proactive approach
  • Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office
  • Willing to take ownership and be accountable and responsible for own work
  • Resilience and ability to manage the challenges inherent in working in family law
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for helping clients through challenging family situations
