About the Major Projects Lawyer role:
Sellick Partnership is delighted to have partnered with Stratford-on-Avon District Council on a permanent recruitment campaign to recruit a Major Projects Lawyer. The ideal candidate will join their friendly, supportive and dynamic Legal team supporting Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick District Councils.
Key responsibilities of the Major Projects Lawyer include:
- The successful candidate will undertake the legal work required in connection with large scale land transactions and major redevelopment/regeneration projects promoted by the two Councils.
- This may include land appropriation, compulsory purchase order management, restrictive covenants review, licences, advising the Councils as master developer, leasehold/freehold acquisitions and disposals, bye-law considerations and advice regarding deal structure, joint ventures, and company law.
- There is also a need to have an understanding of procurement law.
This role provides an opportunity to work on highly interesting projects, advising at a senior level in both Councils and using a broader range of knowledge and skills than would be possible in more specialised roles, such as a property role.
Experience required for the Major Projects Lawyer role include:
- We welcome applications from experienced major projects lawyers ready to hit the ground running with this work and without daily supervision - this is not a development role.
- We seek applications from people who have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary way who are motivated to use their research and analytical skills to provide practical, solution-focused legal advice to our internal clients.
- Local government experience is desirable, but we welcome applications from people from all parts of the legal sector.
- We will accept applications from qualified solicitors, barristers and fellows of the Institute of Legal Executives.
The Major Projects Lawyer role comes with the following benefits:
- A minimum of 25 days annual leave entitlement, in addition to bank holidays.
- Flexible/hybrid working arrangements.
- Flexi time scheme available.
- Health cash plan scheme.
- Access to Local Government Pension Scheme.
