Qualified Lawyer Civil Litigation Job description Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent

A welcome payment of £5000 will be offered to a suitable candidate with appropriate experience.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified lawyer to join our litigation team.

We are seeking a lawyer to undertake legal work in a range of different areas within the civil litigation team, including both contentious and non-contentious work in the spheres of Commercial Landlord and Tenant litigation, Adult Social Care debt, Leasehold property litigation and Housing Law.

You will have experience of dealing with commercial rent disputes, contested debt, general landlord and tenant matters along with experience of dealing with litigated cases (both Claimant and Defendant work) across a variety of different legal areas.

We offer a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance with a hybrid working arrangement which affords the opportunity to work from home or at our city centre offices. You will enjoy a generous annual leave entitlement, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working.  You will also be given the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities.

We are committed to recruiting a diverse and highly talented workforce as we continue to build a Council that is fitting and representative of our great city. That is why we have designed our recruitment process to put you at your ease, make you feel welcome and bring the best out of you. We will do all we can to make our recruitment process as fair as possible. To help you with your application, take a look at the ‘our approach to recruitment’ page.
