Greater Manchester Police is one of the UK's largest police forces and is responsible for keeping people safe across more than 1,200 sq km. The Force covers the Manchester, Salford, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan areas.
GMPs officers and staff work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to keep almost three million people safe. The Force has 11 geographical policing areas known as Divisions that ensure it provides the best possible service to people who live, work and visit Greater Manchester.
The Civil Litigation Unit is part of Legal Services. We are looking for a paralegal to join our team, based at Force Headquarters. You will manage your own caseload of pre-litigated civil claims against the Chief Constable and will assist the in-house solicitors with litigated civil claims. You will be responsible for responding to civil claims, acting always in the best interests of the Chief Constable: carrying out investigations and research, dealing with disclosure of documents and making and effectively communicating your decisions on merits, liability and value.
If you are hard-working, motivated and adaptable, want to work as part of a friendly and supportive team and can demonstrate the attributes and behaviours that GMP expects of all its police staff and officers, we will welcome your application.
