Law Costs Draftsperson

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a law costs draftsperson to join a top tier law firm based in Birmingham city centre on a full time, permanent basis.

You will join a highly successful law firm within their Birmingham city centre office, in a team of up to 30 including one partner, one associate, six supervisors, along with experienced qualified and non-qualified personnel. The team handle a range of costs related work dealing with small level and high value cases including catastrophic injury, claims portal/PCR, costs budgeting and recoveries. 

As a law costs draftsperson you will have a responsibility of managing your own caseload of matters which include; drafting points of dispute, drafting and challenging costs budgets, setting strategy, negotiating and running claims to assessment. Other key duties will include, but will not be limited to;

+ Handling varied caseloads of costs challenges or costs recoveries

+ Achieving a minimum budgeted annual target of 1440 annual chargeable hours

+ Hitting, maintaining and applying a consistent approach to individual targets

+ Acting as a point of contact for clients

+ Taking responsibility for quality control and benchmark compliance on your caseload

To be considered for the role of law costs draftsperson you must have previous experience handling a caseload of costs challenges/recoveries, be a confident negotiator/communicator, be IT literate, be a target driven individual having managed and hit targets previously, be able to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
