Principal Solicitor (Contracts, Property and Procurement)
Salary - £49,663 to £57,910 per annum
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to lead and take forward the Contracts, Property and Procurement team at Guildford Borough Council.
The role will take the key responsibility for the Council’s legal work in a range of functions, including Procurement, contracts, property, conveyancing and Right to Buy.
The successful candidate should be a Solicitor or Barrister with at least 3 years post qualification experience and be able to demonstrate significant knowledge and practical experience in Contract and Procurement law with some general knowledge around Property law.
Experience of Managing and motivating a team is also essential as is the ability to interpret, advise and draft complex legal requirements and documentation relating to procurement and contract law.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent skills in the following areas, giving advice credibly to a range of internal stakeholders including senior managers and councillors, effective team and case management and ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
