Nottingham Law School is a leading provider of legal education with an established record for delivering innovative and inspiring courses. As one of the largest UK law schools, we offer a range of undergraduate degrees, academic and practitioner postgraduate courses, and a strong research-degree programme. We have an excellent reputation for research in insolvency law, criminal justice, legal education, international environmental law and intellectual property law, with our outputs rated as world-leading or internationally excellent.

The School has a strong and established Legal Advice Centre, a separate charitable entity, which in October 2015 was granted an ABS licence by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The Centre has received substantial grants and donations to develop an innovative business and entrepreneurial law service which provides services to SMEs in both for profit and not for profit sectors. The school is seeking to develop the Business Law Service not only to provide much needed support to SMEs and start-ups, but also to give its students unrivalled opportunities to work on commercial cases.

Applications are invited for qualified lawyers to supervise students working on business law cases within the Centre. The successful candidate will have current experience of handling commercial cases. The post holder will supervise students working within the Legal Advice Centre on business and commercial law cases. Experience of supervising in a legal services environment and of charity and/or company law would be an advantage. Part of the post will involve working with colleagues on developing the Centre’s Public Legal Education projects.

Applicants should be qualified solicitors, barristers, trade mark/patent attorneys or legal executives and have experience of handling a commercial law/commercial dispute resolution caseload.
