Compliance Officer Job in Bath with employer of choice

Your new company
This Bath employer of choice are looking for a Compliance Officer to oversee compliance of the group, acting independently and objectively within the organisation. The position will ensure the Board of Directors, management and employees comply with rules and regulations, that company policies and procedures are being followed and that compliant behaviour is maintained. The Compliance Officer will monitor and report results of compliance within the group and will provide guidance to the Board, the Audit Committee and senior management team on matters relating to compliance. You will be authorised to implement all necessary actions to ensure effective compliance across the group. The role will sit within the legal team and will report to the General Counsel.

Your new role
As Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) project. With the support of a Project Manager, you will ensure that the GDPR gap analysis recommendations and actions are implemented. You will also be responsible for educating the business and employees on data protection compliance requirements, reporting and advising the Board on data protection issues and oversee compliance for the group. This will include developing, initiating, maintaining and revising policies and procedures for the operation of group compliance, managing day-to-day compliance for the group and consulting and liaising with the Group General Counsel as needed to resolve complex legal compliance issues.

What you'll need to succeed
You will possess a minimum of 5 years' compliance experience in a corporate setting, to include demonstrable leadership and exceptional communication skills. Knowledge of data protection law and practices is essential and experience in a regulated environment is preferable. With regards to education, you will ideally have the minimum of a bachelor's degree.
