Senior Probate Lawyer – Head of Probate Administration - In-House - Suffolk

Rare opportunity for a driven and dedicated Senior Probate Lawyer to head up and lead the expansion of a well-established Probate Administration Department.

With ambitious growth plans, this niche firm serves clients throughout the UK and internationally. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years' PQE gained within a reputable Probate/Private Client department, with the appetite to assist senior management in expanding the department, and be ready to explore and develop ‘added value’ business opportunities. An enterprising mindset with a proactive attitude would be an advantage. STEP Membership is desirable but not essential.

Leading a small team of fee earners and support staff, you will have prior supervisory experience and the ability to lead and motivate a team of professional specialists. You will also manage and mentor junior members of the team, completing CPD as appropriate.

You will have experience of Private Client and Probate work, including the administration of intestate estates. With a high degree of autonomy, you must be business-minded and possess excellent technical and case management skills, and be prepared to manage difficult issues from time to time in a robust way. You will enjoy the challenges that arise from the occasional contentious matter.
