Solicitor

Permanent contract, 25-35 hours per week: hours dependent on the right candidate

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (FTE) + excellent benefits

Location: London with opportunity for some home working

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) is the professional body for pharmacists and pharmacy in England, Scotland and Wales.  We have an exciting career opportunity for an exceptional solicitor to join our well-established in-house Legal team. Owing to the requirements of the role, a flexible-working arrangement could potentially be reached, as could an agreement to a certain amount of home-working (subject to successful completion of the probationary period).

This role will support General Counsel in the delivery of a high quality legal service, specifically working with our Publishing and HR teams. This will include drafting a range of commercial agreements entered into by the Society, working closely with senior managers to oversee and advise in the negotiations, whilst delivering pragmatic legal advice.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ post-qualification experience working in-house or within a leading law firm. Collaborative working and maintaining tight deadlines is essential. The individual will have an in-depth knowledge of contract and commercial law. Knowledge of employment and/or Intellectual Property law is a bonus.

The role requires an influential and pragmatic character, who is able to interact with, influence, advise and support key contacts at all levels across the business. The ability to manage relationships with internal partners and external providers is essential, as this is a very business-facing role.

The role will be primarily based in the London office but has the opportunity to work from home as may be agreed. We welcome applications from candidates looking for a flexible way of working. In addition, we offer excellent benefits, a supportive working environment and the opportunity to enhance existing skills with on the job training and course provision.

For more information on this role, the full job description and details on how to apply is available by following the link:  http://www.rpharms.com/vacancies

Application is by CV and covering letter. Please note we will not accept CV’s without a covering letter. Part of the interviewing process will include examination of a contract.
