Salary: £27,466 Inclusive of London Weighting (also Occupational Pension in place with 3% Employer & 3% Employee contributions).

The Citizens Advice East End is an organisation formed by the merger of Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets CABx. Our service covers inner city communities in East London.

Applications are invited for an employment solicitor to supervise and manage a legal advice centre held each Tuesday evening. The legal advice centre operates for the benefit of local people who cannot afford to pay for legal advice. The majority of advice provided is employment related but also includes generalist advice in the areas of consumer, debt, welfare benefits and housing law.

The solicitor will support and supervise volunteer legal advisers from a large international law firm as well as manage the administrative systems of the legal advice centre. The solicitor will play a key role in growing the legal advice clinic as well as support Citizens Advice to meet an increasing need for services. 

This is a part-time role of 24 hours per week:

• Tuesdays - 12.00 to 20.00 (one hour for lunch)
• Wednesdays and Thursdays – 9.30 to 17.30 (one hour for lunch)

Candidates must be qualified to supervise for the purpose of 12.1 of the SRA Practice Framework Rules (as amended) which currently indicates being able to demonstrate that they have at least 36 months' (full time or its part time equivalent) experience practicing as a lawyer in the last ten years.
