GDPR Specialist

A Data Protection Lawyer is required for an exciting and senior position with one of the UKs most well-known Financial and Insurance businesses. This role would be perfect for a Lawyer, highly experienced in risk, compliance, data protection, and with knowledge of the GDPR, who is looking for a senior position in a high profile organisation.

Reporting into the Head of Legal and working closely with colleagues across the business, the successful Lawyer will act as the primary source of Data Protection advice to the entire business. You will ensure compliance with the GDPR, all Data Protection law in the UK, FCA rules and guidance, ICO guidance, and all internal guidelines for the organisation. You will be the subject matter expert for the business and be responsible for advising senior management and colleagues on any changes in legislation or regulatory requirements. You will also support other departments in assessing when to carry out a DPIA and how to do so, and also assess whether DPIAs are carried out correctly.

Applications are invited from highly experienced Lawyers with extensive knowledge of GDPR and significant experience within Data Protection, Risk, and Compliance. Candidates will ideally have experience in Financial Services and knowledge of the FCA handbooks (including knowledge of CONC, SYSC, SUP, FIT, COND). Those with experience in a similar organisation or another In-house team are encouraged to apply, but those from Private Practice will also be considered.
