Your new company

I am working with a long-established UK merchant banking group, which has been headquartered in the City of London for over 100 years. They are currently looking for a Commercial Contracts/Procurement Solicitor to join their in-house legal team.

Your new role

As part of a busy and well-respected legal function, the crux of your role will be centred around the drafting, negotiating and advising of an array of commercial contracts. You will be very active in working in close proximity with the Procurement team and be given genuine responsibility from day one as you ensure vital procurement processes are effectively managed. Your responsibilities will also extend in to risk management and regulatory issues, giving you the chance to offer your advice and expertise on a wider range of business-related legal areas.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a first-rate business lawyer (at least 5 years' PQE or equivalent) with excellent academics. You will have a detailed understanding of the financial services sector and a natural curiosity for financial regulatory issues. Ideally, you will also have gained previous experience working in-house as well as within a procurement team in financial services. You will have a personality that allows you to succeed in a fast-paced business environment and possess the interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and work closely with broader teams within the organisation to ensure the highest professional standards are met.
