Childcare Lawyer

Our client,  an excellent Local Authority based in the North West of England is seeking a Childcare Lawyer to join their team.

The role is for an initial three months with the strong possibility of extension.

The ideal candidate can hit the ground running from the outset and can work well under pressure.

If you are successful upon application you will be expected to perform the following duties:

• Providing advice, undertaking research relating to childcare matters, including: public law care proceedings, adoption, child protection and fostering
• Carrying a caseload of matters in proceedings and pre-proceedings
• Undertaking advocacy in the relevant courts and tribunals to include, CMC, IRH’s, PLO’s and Direction Hearings
• Attending meetings with expert witnesses
• Preparing briefs to Counsel for more complex hearings
• Attending legal planning meetings when required

Due to the urgency of the role it will be ideal that you are available on less than two weeks’ notice.

It is imperative that you have previous experience within this skill set and can work well in a dynamic team.
