Childcare Lawyer

LAW Absolute is working with a collaborative and welcoming East London local authority recruiting for a locum Childcare Lawyer.  Our client is looking for a candidate to join their progressive and highly-motivated team on an initial 3 month contract with a strong likelihood for extension.

From the outset, the successful candidate will be expected to assume a diverse caseload whilst working autonomously to a high standard. To be successful in this role it is essential that you enjoy working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. 

Childcare Lawyers in the team can expect to advise and represent in a variety of cases relating to childcare matters including child protections issues, fostering and adoption processes and public law care proceedings.  In addition, the role will involve;

•             Handling matters in both proceedings and pre-proceedings

•             The preparation and delivery of briefs to Counsel for certain case hearings

•             Meeting with expert witnesses and undertaking advocacy up to one day contested final hearings.

This role offers flexible working hours with the option to work from home one day a week. Our client offers a supportive environment but, due to the urgent nature of the role, candidates will be expected to hit the ground running.
