Job Details

Employment & Pensions Paralegal, International Law Firm, London, Permanent, Salary up to £30,000

Your new company
This international law firm is headquartered in London, and has offices worldwide including Europe, the Asia-Pacific, North American, and Latin America. The firm's legal expertise is held in high regard across a range of sectors, with clients including international, institutional, private and government organisations. The firm provides a full service offering, with particular repute in health, insurance and real estate.

Your new role
The firm's Employment & Pensions Group advise private and public sector employers on HR matters, both contentious and non contentious. These can include, but are not limited to, disciplinary and grievance issues, redundancy programmes, industrial action, and transfer of employees. The team is unusual in its depth and breadth of employment litigation experience, and handles over 1,000 tribunal cases per year. You will undertake a wide range of document management activities, considering evidence to establish relevant witnesses and drafting witness statements. You will also assist with drafting and lodging defences to claims, drafting counter schedules of loss, COT3s, applications to Employment Tribunals, costs applications, and briefs to counsel. You will also prepare disclosure lists, and liaise with the other side to agree upon hearing bundles, alongside liaising with other paralegals, trainees and lawyers, to ensure caseloads and deadlines are managed efficiently.

What you'll need to succeed
You have secured a minimum 2.1 in your LLB, and have completed your LPC/BPTC. You have previous paralegal experience specialising in employment law, and have handled your own litigation caseload. You are a confident communicator, both in writing and verbally, and are a good team player. You have strong attention to detail and sound IT skills.

What you'll get in return
The firm strongly emphasises developing its paralegals, and 11 of its 14 trainee intake last year were paralegals in the firm. You will earn a competitive salary working in a supportive environment, at a firm that is highly respected in the industry.
