Your new role
This is a key role for the business and the post holder will be accountable for providing advice and support to ensure compliance with relevant privacy law and regulation. You will provide legal advice and support on all aspects of compliance with Privacy and Data Protection Law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and chair the GDPR Steering Group. You will act as the primary point of contact and manage the relationship with external counsel supporting privacy and data protection matters; proactively monitoring for changes to privacy law and regulation.

What you need to succeed
You will have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in privacy and data protection. In-house exposure during or post training is a definite advantage, but is not essential. You should have a solid background in privacy and data protection law and an ability to apply that knowledge in a practical and pragmatic way. You will have an appetite to learn new skills coupled with strong drafting skills and experience of contract negotiation. Commercial experience, gained in a global business processing large volumes of Personal Identifiable Information is desirable.
