JOB DESCRIPTION
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To carry out efficiently and promptly all work which is from time to time allocated to you by the firm or which you introduce including taking instructions from clients, Will writing, EPA's, Trusts and other tasks in relation to the Probate Department.
KEY TASKS
To see clients, take instructions and advise
To prepare and deal with cases from inception to conclusion including full responsibility for those matters allocated to you
To maintain your files in a neat and orderly fashion and to conclude the billing of matters which you have handled
To maintain an accurate daily time record of your work to ensure the accurate billing of matters you are involved in
To be familiar with and operate and comply with any quality procedures the firm operates
To comply with any Health and Safety procedures the firm operates.
To undertake other duties as may be required from time to time by the Partners to ensure the smooth running of the firm
To be familiar with all rules relating to the Professional conduct of solicitors
To ensure that your professional continuing education points are up to date.
To ensure Money Laundering procedures are adhered to and any suspicious circumstances reported to the MLRO.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
SKILLS:A high level of interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of legal aid procedures, preferably gained in a franchised firm. Some keyboard, computer or I.T. knowledge would be useful.
QUALIFICATIONS:LPC, ILEX or equivalent
PERSONAL QUALITIES:assertive, articulate and self confident. Reliable and conscientious. Sound attention to detail and the ability to grasp new ideas and concepts quickly. Smart and professional. Self-motivating and pro-active with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
