My clients are seeking a Paralegal to join their Property Risk Solutions team. Your role will involve claims handling of a variety of litigated and non-litigated property recovery files. This will include developing your knowledge of legal issues arising from a variety of peril based recoveries as well as building an understanding of liability issues and seeking recoveries from from third party insurers and third party direct. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining client relationships, assessing liability and quantum and establishing strategy for the case. Your duties will also involve resolving claims through negotiation and/or litigation where necessary, in addition to drafting and issuing court claims forms and particulars and handling small claims litigated matters through to trial or earlier settlement.

Previous experience of working as an insurance claims handler or small claims paralegal is desirable. You will ideally have a degree in Law or equivalent and possess knowledge of the litigation process either through experience, the LPC or ILEX. You should also have a good working knowledge of general contract and tort and be interested in and willing to learn insurance property damage law.
