Several exciting opportunities are available to join our busy Legal Service at  Dorset County Council, in the picturesque county town of Dorchester. We are looking for applicants with good technical knowledge (ideally in a Local Government context although this is not essential) and able to demonstrate a “can do” approach.

Each Solicitor post is open to qualified Solicitors, Barristers and Fellows of CILEX that are able to meet the specific requirements of the roles. You must also hold and maintain a valid Practising Certificate.

Salary £47,989 - £53,609

You will lead the Legal Services Property and Regulatory team at Dorset County Council and take responsibility for providing management and supervision across all areas of the Legal Services Property and Regulatory team in addition to either Property or Regulatory (Planning) case work.

You will be expected to demonstrate significant post qualification knowledge and practical experience in either Property or Regulatory (Planning) law.

These posts all have a significant travel requirement and you are contractually required to have a vehicle (or transport deemed to be suitable by the County Council) available for use as required.The above solicitor posts may involve working with children or vulnerable adults and/or having access to significant infomation about them and will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check, apart from the Data Protection Officer post which requires you to have access to sensitive information and will be subject to a Basic Criminal Records Check.
