Matrimonal Legal Assistant

Due to continued expansion, a vacancy exists for a Legal Assistant in my client's matrimonial department within their Cardiff office.

The Legal Assistant will provide a total support service to the Fee Earners, enabling him/her to operate at optimum efficiency. You will be expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative.

Duties will include preparing correspondence and documents using audio typing, word processing or digital dictation methods. Administering filing systems which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the office manual and preparing mail and enclosures for despatch.

You will also be required to arrange for all copying to be done, make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain an up-to-date diary for the partner and provide support to Junior secretaries and other secretaries as required.

There will be a lot of client interaction as the successful candidate will attend to clients both in person and on the telephone and provide such communication in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the practice's standards for client care.

The successful candidate must be competent in Microsoft Office, word and excel amd have experience in diary management and customer service. You must be a confident communicator with good telephone manner and previous Legal Secretary experience.
