Principal Lawyer

Salary up to £37,414

(a further market supplement may be applicable for exceptional candidates)

Rugby Borough Council is seeking to recruit a qualified lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or FCILEX) with at least 3 years post qualification experience and able to work with minimum supervision.

The Legal Services Team is a small multi-disciplinary team of professional staff that provides legal advice and support across the Council.

The role will involve representing the Council and advising generally on all aspects of local government law but with an emphasis on Planning Law knowledge and experience.

Depending on the suitability and experience of the candidate the role may include acting as the Council’s Deputy Monitoring Officer for which there is an additional Statutory Role Allowance of £1,158.36 per annum
