Senior Legal Advisor

Are you an international oriented lawyer with interest in wind energy transactions? Are you interested in handling long term, complex negotiations of large-scale offshore wind energy projects? If so, you may just be the colleague we are looking for.

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is a fast-paced and growing international company and we are rapidly becoming a significant player in the offshore-wind industry. We are looking for a new Senior Legal Advisor to join our Legal & Risk department working from our office in London. You will work in a highly-skilled team along with various departments across the organisation in a company that is dynamic, global and multicultural.

What you will do

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Negotiate international wind turbine transactions for the sale and service of wind turbines - hereunder draft and negotiate turbine supply agreements and service and availability agreements.
  • Respond to tenders from our customers, advise the organisation during the tender phase and negotiate pre-engineering agreements and term sheets.
  • Provide contractual and legal training to various departments of the organisation.
  • Provide general legal advice.

You will be working closely together with other departments in MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, including Sales, Construction, Service and Technology. The transaction negotiations will take place in various countries and thus you must expect between 50-100 travelling days per year, depending on the projects you are working on.

What we are looking for

As a person, you are highly structured and cooperative with a high-stress tolerance. You have very good negotiation and communication skills and can maintain your motivation during the long-term process involved in negotiating large and complex offshore wind power projects. It is an advantage, but not a pre-requisite, if you are experienced in working with wind turbine supply agreements and service & availability agreements. Relatively few employees work from our London office and thus you must be able to work independently.

In addition, you have:

  • a solid legal educational background and excellent legal skills.
  • worked in a legal department of a large corporation and/or in a law firm for minimum 5 years.
  • the ability to prioritize and focus on both quality and meeting deadlines.
  • a strong commercial mindset and are interested in learning further about commercial and technical issues.
  • a result orientated and persistent approach.

What we offer

We offer you an exciting job in a rapidly growing international company with an outstanding opportunity to make your mark on this development. You will have excellent opportunities for professional and personal development and with our ambition to become global leader in the offshore wind market we provide an inspiring and fast-paced working environment.

Additional information

Your primary location will be our office in Richmond, London, UK.

Applications are handled on an ongoing basis. Please send your application and CV as soon as possible using the link on this page.
