 About the role & About us

Due to a £600 million investment programme we are actively seeking to recruit a number of roles into our highly respected Commercial and Employment Team.

Our work is varied and includes:

  • Homes for Cornwall, assisting in unlocking public and private sector delivery of over 4000 homes
  • Large development sites
  • Potentially the UK’s first space port
  • Devolution of assets and services
  • Supporting the investment and growth of Cornwall Airport Newquay and Aerohub Enterprise Zone
  • Major Infrastructure projects such as a new link road from St Austell to the A30 Multi Modal Transport Hub.

The teams act for the Council, the Council’s group of companies, and public sector bodies in the south west region.

We have x2 37 hour permanent positions and a 9 month 32 hour fixed term contract which may represent a suitable secondment opportunity for existing Cornwall Council employees. If you wish to be considered for a secondment, please obtain your manager’s permission before applying.

More information about working for Cornwall Council is available here About you We are looking for experienced commercial lawyers who will be responsible for a personal case load which will include advising a variety of clients including internal clients, the Council’s group of companies and other public bodies.

This role will include advice on procurement, commercial contracts, funding and state aid.
