Your new company
Well-established and credible financial services organisation, based in Manchester, is looking to recruit a high quality lawyer with FS experience. This is a sole counsel role where you will report into the Chief Risk Officer and take ownership of the legal function.
Your new role
You will work closely with the leadership and executive team, providing robust legal advice across a range of business and commercial matters. You will work in a broad and varied role where you will provide strategic input for change within the organisation, support the business on regulatory projects in line with FCA and ICO requirements and engage with key stakeholders to develop policies and procedures. You will also take responsibility for managing external lawyers and legal spend.
What you'll need to succeed
This role will suit an experienced financial services lawyer with a track record in managing legal projects in a change environment. You will have financial services experience, gained from either the general banking / investment banking / private banking / wealth management / insurance sectors. Previous experience in either a sole counsel or lead lawyer would be ideal and you must have a solid background in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.

You will play a key role in driving a dedicated legal function for the UK business in a standalone position. You will be given significant exposure to senior leadership and will be paid a competitive salary up to £80k plus benefits including bonus.
