Legal Counsel

An award-winning Games Business is looking for a commercially astute Solicitor to join their In-house legal team on a part-time basis. The role would be perfect for a commercial Solicitor with a broad commercial background, including experience in contracts, IP, licencing, and data protection. This is an exciting, innovative, and fun business with lots of personality and opportunities to develop.

This business creates games that are enjoyed world-wide, and they have won numerous awards and accolades in the games industry. They have an incredibly lively office environment and - to put it simply - enjoy being at work. The successful commercial Solicitor will have a highly visible role in the business, and will work with designers, marketing, finance, HR, and other internal stakeholders to provide comprehensive and commercial legal advice.

A typical day could involve; drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, (T&Cs, digital media agreements, licensing agreements, and confidentiality agreements), managing the IP portfolio and advising on IP infringements, advising on ad-hoc employment law issues or commercial disputes, and advising on new marketing campaigns or property developments.

Applications are invited from Commercial Solicitors, ideally around 5 years PQE, who have broad commercial backgrounds. Candidates could either be coming from Private Practice or In-house but will be confident in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, and ideally have some experience of advising on IP and licensing. This is a part-time role, but there is flexibility on how this is managed and what days you spend in the office.
