A Legal Advisor job with an engineering membership body in London.

Your new company
A long established membership-based organisation, representing the interests of over 600 companies and consultancies within the engineering sector in the UK. With a highly empowered national management structure and impressive collective expertise within the sector, this organisation exists to provide its members with exceptional industry intelligence, industry networking opportunities, lobbying platforms and sound business advice to complement its members' business activities.

Your new role
A legal advisor position reporting into the Director of Corporate Services, as part of a small but well-integrated legal function. You will advise confidently on risk management related to commercial agreements and procurement matters, while maintaining contractual and business relationships between the organisation and its members. You will represent the organisation externally at industry events and work closely with senior management to ensure the furthering of the organisation's mission statement. Additionally, you will provide company secretarial support and provide consultancy support to stakeholders when necessary.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a UK-qualified lawyer with excellent experience dealing with stakeholders at all levels, and ideally some sort of exposure and interest in the engineering sector. You will be adept at reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements including but not limited to, procurement, membership and events agreements. You will have excellent relationship building skills and the ability to represent the organisation credibly at external industry events. You will have a commercial mind and the confidence and aptitude to effectively advise on contractual risk, while having the interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders and manage sensitive industry information. You will be a team player ready to integrate yourself across the wider organisation, and the willingness to learn and develop a long-term career.

What you'll get in return
You will get the chance to interact with industry stakeholders at the highest levels, and to make a definitive impression within the organisation, affecting industry developments as a whole. You will be managed by a highly respected and influential individual, and you will in turn have the opportunity to develop your career significantly for the long term.
