The firm prides itself on providing a comprehensive, down-to-earth and common-sense approach, putting the clients’ needs front and centre.  A vacancy has now arisen for a 2+ years’ PQE lawyer to join the personal injury department in the Crawley office and support senior fee-earners in the catastrophic injuries team.

The Role
Specialist lawyers within the firm include members of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and the firm is a member of all the local and national brain injury groups and panels such as Headway and Actions for Victims of Medical Accidents.  The firm also promotes its expert services by way of a very focused business development team. Candidates for this role will be expected to display that same level of commitment to their clients and towards the firm’s networking and other business development objectives. You will be managing your own caseload, from initial instruction onwards, of personal injury claims, including brain and orthopaedic injuries, with damages ranging from £25,000 to £150,000.  In addition you will be supporting partners dealing with very-high-value, complex claims (£!m+) which includes visiting clients in hospital and at their homes.

The Candidate
You will have a commitment to ongoing professional development combined with a creative, problem-solving approach and first-class technical skills;
APIL accreditation/Law Society Personal Injury Panel membership would be advantageous;
A minimum of 2 years’ PQE in running multi-track personal injury claims from initial instruction through to the close of the case, including organising support and rehabilitation at an early stage;
An understanding of highly complex compensation claims;
Outstanding client-care skills, with the ability to explain complex technical matters in accessible, empathetic language;
Solid IT skills with experience in using a case-management system;
A full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle;
An understanding of, and ability to achieve, strong hour and fee targets
