Our client is an innovative and expanding advisory business which enjoys retained relationships with a range of businesses clients. A core part of their service offering is Employment Law advice and they have a team of experienced qualified Solicitors working with a client portfolio. These lawyers have specialist backgrounds and maintain their CPD points though are non-practising as they're not working for a law firm. They enjoy a much more regular routine than is experienced in private practice. There is no time recording, and whilst it is important that they can establish client relationships they are not required to actively market for work. They enjoy working in a flat structure where everyone's focus is on providing strong guidance to businesses as oppose to internal competition between individuals or departments.

This role has come about by consequence of further expansion, and will suit a qualified Solicitor who wants to work in an office-based role with occasional client attendance. The focus is respondent work, contentious and non-contentious. If a lawyer wants to undertake tribunal advocacy that is possible but not essential as this business regularly uses barristers. It is thought that 5yr+PQE would be an appropriate level of experience so as to have the confidence in your own competency to work day to day without close supervision.

Communication skills are vital as you will be working in a team but also you will have your own client list who will engage with you on complex as well as more routine matters - rapport with the clients is essential. Training is provided to clients and seminars given regularly and so it would be expected that you'd get involved in these initiatives also as part of maintaining your relationships to the client base.

The role is based in Cleckheaton so is close to the M62, with plenty of free parking and town centre amenities. Remuneration will be competitive and include pension, but the appeal of the opportunity should be the move out of a law firm mentality and some of the working practices associated with that.

Florit Brooke advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible but if we have not contacted you within 5 days then unfortunately on this occasion your application has not quite met the requirements of our client closely enough.
