Job Details

My client is a top ranked Legal 500 firm. Many of the firm's Partners and Associates are ex-City practitioners, and they attract a high quality of work across all their practice areas. If you are looking for a move out of London without a reduction in the quality of work on offer then this could be ideal for you.

We are recruiting for a contentious Construction Associate with 2-4 years' experience to join the busy team in North Kent. Consisting of 6 construction lawyers (split evenly between contentious and non-contentious practitioners), the construction team acts for an interesting mix of large property portfolio-holders, institutional investors, shopping centres and local authorities with substantial pipelines of repeat work.

You will handle construction disputes across insolvency and payment disputes, warranty claims, and disputes under all forms of building contracts. The non-contentious team also regularly deals with large one-off construction projects including new build hotels, leisure centres, office developments and school refurbishment projects, and you will handle any associated litigation arising out of disputes relating to these projects. This is a great opportunity to come and join a successful and growing team that is involved in impressive and varied work.

You will be a Construction Solicitor with over 2 years' PQE, most of which should be in contentious work. Along with your legal knowledge, you should have excellent client facing skills and the desire to grow your practice through active business development.

The role is commutable from Sevenoaks, Crawley, Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone with excellent train links to London. The firm offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package and excellent opportunities for progression. If you would like to apply or find out more information, please contact Tom Cooke at QED Legal or apply below.

QED
An acronym of the latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum which translates as "thus it is demonstrated" or "that which was to be demonstrated". It is most often used as an annotation at the end of a complex mathematical, scientific or philosophical argument to show that the author had proven what he had set out to prove. In recent times it has also been translated as "Quite Easily Done".

As a recruiter you have to network and speak to large amounts of people and lots of law firms to really understand the market and have the connections to match people with opportunity quickly when the time arises. A good recruiter needs to be Quick, Excellent and Dynamic in everything that they do. Allow the team at QED to demonstrate what they can do for your firm or your career.
