If so, you can do this by becoming the HS2 Independent Construction Commissioner (ICC), as HS2 Ltd prepares to embark on a once in a generation project to build a new railway which will transform travel in Britain and reshape the economic geography of the nation, bringing our cities together and helping to rebalance growth and opportunities.
HS2 Ltd is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body of the Department for Transport, who are seeking to appoint an ICC to mediate unresolved disputes that may arise during the next three years of HS2 construction. The successful candidate will help resolve complaints from members of the public or businesses arising from damage or other issues caused by construction of the project where already established lines of and complaint resolution have been unsuccessful.
As such candidates will need to demonstrate experience in more than one of the following areas: mediation skills to resolve issues; developing and maintain good relationships; independence, impartiality and accountability; and the ability to develop a comprehensive understanding of the relevant regulations and frameworks to ensure decisions made are legally and organisationally compliant.
The successful candidates will also possess the ability to think clearly, analytically and creatively, with strong listening, interpersonal and influencing skills. They will be able to demonstrate experience of dealing with a wide variety of individuals and representative groups as well as the ability to analyse and understand complex information and situations before reaching an objective conclusion.
This will be a three year appointment with the possibility of re-appointment or extension for further years.
