Solicitor /Attorney- Trademark / Intellectual Property - Southampton

A leading law firm (Top 100) with several offices across the UK require the further addition of Trademark Attorney. The team is well-established and a highly-regarded practice that counts many household names and luxury international brands as key clients.

As part of an established Intellectual Property Team based across two separate sites you will both assist senior lawyers with their workload and run your own case load under supervision. Your focus will predominantly be contentious work, with some non-contentious work in what is a fast paced sector with an abundance of variety.

Typical duties will include dealing with trade mark prosecution matters and IP infringement proceedings. Your existing expertise will encompass drafting trade mark specifications, preparing trade mark applications, dealing with registry office actions, managing oppositions in and out, assisting with portfolio management and taking action against third parties which infringe the rights of both UK and international clients. You should be able to competently assist fee earners and manage your own case load under supervision.

This is really is an excellent opportunity to take on high quality work which you you will not find the likes of outside many City firms. Furthermore there is a very strong support to further your own professional development with very realistic prospects on progression to a position of seniority within the firm and dealing with major International clientele.

You should at least have 1 years PQE as a qualified solicitor or trade mark attorney in a specialist team though an exceptional NQ who can demonstrate a very high level of competency and potential may be considered. A technical grounding in intellectual property law and litigation / registry procedures is a key requirement as should exceptional client interactivity and a willingness and aptitude for business development.
