Regulatory Paralegal – A Regulatory Paralegal is required to work for a Regulatory team in a Hampshire law firm. The Regulatory team acts for a wide range of public and private sector clients including all forms of NHS organisations, governmental and regulatory bodies, registered providers, insurers, defence organisations, independent healthcare providers, charities and GP practices.
The Regulatory team comprises over 20 fee earners and acts for regulatory bodies, investigating and prosecuting fitness to practise cases, and handling appeals and strategic issues for them.
The Regulatory Paralegal will assist on regulatory casework. The role is commutable from Eastleigh, Alton, Southampton, Winchester and Basingstoke.

The main roles and responsibilities will include (although, this is not an exhaustive list):
supporting fee earners in aspects of their casework;
Working to an annual chargeable hours target;
Witness liaison;
Preparing witness statements;
Instructing experts;
Putting together trial bundles;
Attending conferences with Counsel/ experts/ clients;
Attending hearings before statutory committees (not advocacy);

Candidate specification

Candidates should ideally have:

An LPC or BVC qualification;
Current/recent experience of working for regulators / within the regulatory arena;
Good drafting skills;
Good communication skills;
Good administration skills;
Basic computer skills.
