Join a very well-regarded, expanding private client team

The Firm
Long established in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and combining a proactive, forward-thinking approach with traditional values of excellent service, this very successful firm advises across a range of legal disciplines. Enjoying substantial positive feedback from satisfied clients, and priding itself on the calibre of lawyers within the firm, it is now looking to recruit two solicitors to join the private client department.

The Role
The private client team deals with an interesting and challenging mix of work. As well as standard private client matters including general estates administration, advising on LPAs, deputyship applications and Deeds of Variation, it also includes preparing IHT400 (and schedules), IHT205, applying for the transferable nil rate band and other HMRC accounts. As well as standard probate work, the team is also regularly instructed in extremely complex probate and inheritance issues.  These include complicated issues relating to Inheritance Tax, and a substantial amount of work dealing with foreign property and non-UK domiciled testators.

The Candidates
The firm is looking for;
1)  3+ years’ PQE. An experienced solicitor with an absolute minimum of 3 years’ PQE in a private client role with a well-regarded firm, you will possess excellent drafting and technical ability. A creative problem-solver, you will be confident in dealing with complex and challenging issues, particularly in relation to non-UK estates, testators or beneficiaries, and possess first-class communication and client-care skills, with the ability to explain complex matters in clear, accessible language with an empathetic approach.

2) NQ-3 years’ PQE solicitor or legal executive. Ambitious and personable, comfortable in dealing with clients, you will have good drafting and technical skills and be confident in taking instruction and drawing up wills and trust documents. You will be experienced in general probate matters and estates administration, and able to advise on tax planning, LPA and Court of Protection matters.

Both vacancies attract a very competitive remuneration package. The firm is looking for candidates who are ambitious for themselves and for the firm; willing to undertake marketing and business development and with good networking skills.
