Your new role
A Legal Counsel position reporting into the Senior Counsel, as part of an immediate team of five lawyers in the UK. Support is also garnered from the network of lawyers in Europe and the US. This is a commercial generalist role, less associated with the medical devices and regulatory aspects of the business, and more with the operational aspects. Further, you will advise the wider business on advertising and marketing matters, working closely with promotional and marketing teams. You will also advise on ad hoc competition, data protection, compliance and corporate governance matters, while analysing disputes as they come in. There is also the opportunity to be involved in more corporate transactions and educate the business on legislative compliance matters, including anti-bribery, anti-corruption and anti-slavery matters.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a UK-qualified lawyer up to approx. 5 PQE (more senior lawyers with relevant experience will also be considered), with excellent academics and a commercial generalist profile. Industry-specific experience is not necessary for this role, though in-house exposure would be greatly valued. You will have solid experience drafting and negotiating business-facing contracts, and you will be adept and managing stakeholders across an international business. You will have the hunger to learn and develop yourself within a team that offers career progression, and you will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where you sometimes need to push back against the business. You will be a confident and approachable individual ready to collaborate effectively in a small team.
What you'll get in return
You will be invested in as an individual by a business that prides itself on the development of its people. You will work on both UK focused and cross-jurisdictional matters, and you will be rewarded with a competitive salary. There is a genuine opportunity to build a long-term, fruitful career with a leading name in the healthcare and life sciences market.
