An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Locum Childcare Solicitor to join a successful Local Authority legal team in the West Midlands.

The position is ideally to start ASAP however there may be scope for the client to wait for the right candidate. An initial contract term of 3 months is on offer with a strong possibility of extension.

Applications are welcome from qualified Solicitors, Barristers or Legal Executives with previous Childcare experience working within a Local Government organisation. Candidates with a strong Childcare background in Private Practice would also be considered.

The duties on a day-to-day basis may include:

  • Managing a full caseload of Childcare cases to include all pre proceedings
  • Attending both County Court and Family Proceedings Court including trial hearings, directions hearing and half day hearings
  • Performing own advocacy – contested and final hearings

A rate of up to £40 per hour (dependent on experience) is offered.

Whilst this is a full time position, part time and flexible working hours to include home working may also be considered for the right candidate.
