GDPR & Commercial Lawyer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a GDPR and Commercial Lawyer to join a prestigious academic institution based in the East Midlands.

This is a great opportunity to join an organisation in a newly created position on a permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to not only specialise in GDPR but to also assist with advising on a wide range of legal matters.

It is essential for this role that you have extensive experience of advising and dealing with Information Law and GDPR matters. A background of negotiating and drafting commercial contracts would also be desired.

Duties of the role will include:

• Advising on the Data Protection Act, GDPR and Freedom of Information Act matters
• Writing and assisting with the development of policies, procedures and frameworks
• Drafting Data Transfer and Data Sharing Agreements
• Acting as the organisation's Data Protection Officer, dealing with any queries relating to information sharing and data protection
• Negotiating, drafting and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts

The position would be suited to an experienced lawyer who has a strong background working within a public or private sector organisation dealing specifically with GDPR matters. We will consider applications from qualified Solicitors, Barristers, Legal Executives and non-qualified lawyers with relevant experience.

The position offers a salary of between £50,000 and £60,000 per annum; however this could be negotiable for the right candidate.
