Base: Lewes and Eastbourne
Grade: PO3-6 or PO7-10, £32709 to £39637, depending on experience
37 hours per week. Part-time hours considered, working a minimum of 22.5 hours.
Our Legal Practice spans Lewes and Eastbourne Councils, providing expert advice to our shared body of officers and both sets of members.
We are seeking a Planning Lawyer to advise primarily on planning matters, with a secondary focus on other regulatory functions.
From a planning perspective, our area is unique in its mix of environments, including the larger urban area of Eastbourne, the historic county town of Lewes, small towns and villages in and around the National Park and a large area of coastal strip.
The post holder can expect to advise on matters as varied as planning policy, neighbourhood planning, community infrastructure levy, section 106 agreements, and enforcement. Advising at planning committees will also feature regularly.
You will work alongside our Senior Planning Lawyer in our Legal Practice supported by a dedicated practice manager and case management system.
We will consider your application whether you are an experienced planning lawyer or newly qualified and keen to gain experience. The work activity and level of supervision and training you receive will depend on your previous experience.
The successful candidate will be required to work out of both Lewes and Eastbourne offices as the caseload dictates.
If you would like to find out more about the role, or any other aspect of the advert, please contact Joanne Stone at firstname.lastname@example.org
The closing date for the receipt of applications is midnight Sunday 8 April 2018.
Interviews to be held on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 April 2018.
