Planning Lawyer required to join a local authority based in London for an initial 3 month period. It is anticipated that the role will continue onto a rolling contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a popular local authority. The office is easy to reach, situated in a location which is easily accessible by London Underground or Overground.
The successful candidate will be managing a busy caseload of Planning matters. Alongside this, day to day duties will include;
- Drafting legal documents, including agreements, deeds, notices, orders, consents, and byelaws relevant to the work of the council
- Preparation of cases before courts and tribunals
- Responding to legal questions from a wide range of clients
- Advising and attending committees and sub-committees, members and chief officers
- Dealing with Section 106 work
The ideal candidate will be a Planning Lawyer with 3 years post-qualification-experience. However, newly-qualified solicitors are also encouraged to apply for this role as they will be considered.
It is essential that the successful candidate has experience of managing a planning caseload. Our client is happy to hear from Planning Lawyers with either a public sector or private practice background, providing that a thorough practical understanding of local government law is held.
