Job Details

Our market-leading construction team, consisting of 4 partners and 9 further lawyers based across Bristol and London, has a national profile and directory rankings for providing our clients with practical commercially-focused advice.

Our reputation in education, housing and local authority sectors is second to none and is complemented by a strong practice advising clients operating in health, infrastructure, leisure, waste management and renewable energy sectors, including major contractors and developers.

We advise clients on the use of industry standard forms and bespoke documentation on all the main construction procurement strategies for both capital projects and long-term maintenance arrangements. We are at the cutting edge of long-term outsourcing and partnership working arrangements and have extensive experience of advising on all the PPP models, including the PFI market.

Our experienced team also advises clients on all their informal and formal dispute resolution needs and we have developed a significant reputation for our contract review and re-negotiation services.

The Role

As part of the ongoing expansion of our busy practice, a vacancy has arisen for an Associate to join our Construction team in Bristol or London, working mainly on non-contentious matters for both public and private sector clients.

There is the opportunity for the right, commercially-focussed candidate to run day-to-day conduct of a number of significant client relationships.

The Individual

The individual would need the following skill set:

  • 5-9 years PQE principally in private practice
  • Experience of working mainly on non-contentious matters (although a mixed-role would be considered)
  • Some experience of managing relationships with key clients on a day to day basis
  • Practical and commercial approach
  • Ability to manage own time efficiently
  • Excellent drafting and legal analysis skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team leading construction input on larger projects
  • Ability to liaise effectively with clients

To apply for this position, please email careers@bevanbrittan.com with your CV and covering letter.
